The Elementary Section of the Oasis International School covers the Play group, Nursery, Lower Kindergarten and grades one and two. This curricula helps to lay the foundation to educate and prepare children fully, both in academic subject matters that conform with International, explicitly, British standards of education and moral values aiding them to be confident, far thinking and distinctive individuals.
Immense and painstaking care is taken in the choice of the trainer, namely the teacher, as well as, the material provided for teaching the kids to ensure systematic and in-depth development of their knowledge.
Primary
The Primary Section, at Oasis International School, includes grades three, four and five. The academic specifications, in the Primary Section, sturdily conform to British standards of education and criterions set by the Cambridge Board of Education. The National Curriculum is instilled in the English Medium and consists of grades 1 to 5.
The curriculums, as result, are entertaining, imbued with numerous activities like sport, swimming, art, handwork, dancing, singing, music and elocution. Teachers strive to develop personal and social dexterities while vehemently instructing students in Language: Sinhala or Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science and Religion.
We make enormous efforts to develop and nurture self-confidence, assertiveness and conviction in our children in the Primary section. We encourage pupils, therefore, to take part, at competitive levels, in inter-house sports and swimming meets, external art, dancing and music competitions, as well as, speech and drama examinations.
Lower Secondary
The objective of the Lower Secondary Section of Oasis International School is a well-intended, preparatory level to meticulously and methodically get students ready for the Cambridge Ordinary Level Examination syllabus in grades nine and ten of the Senior School. The Lower Secondary Section encompasses classes from grades six to eight.
Staffed by a qualified and experienced crew of teachers, the Lower Secondary continues with the Cambridge Syllabus that carries on, congenially, from the Primary section.
English, Mathematics and Science are taught as compulsory subjects at this stage of learning. Students are encouraged, exuberantly, to learn aesthetic disciplines of their choice, Music, Art or Dancing. Games and sports are an integral part of the curriculum as in every section of the school, because Oasis International School is sturdily convicted in the credence of, “A sound mind in a sound body.”
